Sorry about the 1975 Red/black Mini with sunroof Don. I was there in ‘87 and didn’t see a single mini ! But I’ll do some net surfing...you never know- sometimes the guy who can’t post a picture of his car can solve a 20 years old “ cold case “ on a missing mini . I dig Mamba wheels too, so that might help ;-) Minerva, that’s a very nice picture of your mini and your dogs. Some day I’ll figure out how to do it too, but for now, I’m going to let it rest. ve9ee, it certainly is a great time to own a mini in the maritimes. Posebud, I thought I’d try using Chrome instead of Safari and a couldn’t even log in.....this is one of those times when computers/iPads etc feel like they want to fly.....good thing I’m not like that. What I mean is computers are great when they do what you want, but a real POP when they don’t ! I try not to be square, but I’ll be around ! Lupin says : tell them I will too ! Signing off for now ; Derwood and Lupin.??

You might also contact Bob Giannou. He is the founder and organizer of the Targa Nfld...and was president of the St Johns Motor Club when I lived there. He surely will be able to put you in touch with some Brit car owners....maybe Minis?

You know it would be EXTREMLY rare for someone in NB, NS or PEI to take their Classic Mini over to the 'Rock, right?

Your best bet would be to contact Paul Malone in St. John's, who, like me, has classic and modern Mini's both.

Now if I could just remember his MM user name......email me privately if you want. I think I have his email address. If it moves on the Rock, Paul would know.

Darren hope I didn't break your computer, with all of those pictures. I have a request for the maritime crew. I would like to find a red /black mini with a glass sunroof,1975 with Mamba wheels. This car was sold to a man who lived just outside of St. John's ,maybe Trinity Bay.This may have been twenty years ago.

Yeh...the "Scottish Stuff"...including a special badge on the rear fenders and boot..and the two ultimate Scottish accessories in the back seat...and as you can see from the rear plate...here in BC where our normal winter consists of south east gales and rain....like today.

Aha ! Now we are making progress. Thank you Michael ! No worry of snow in your area ?? ! BTW- when I first saw your site ( car I presume ) name, my thoughts were ,...Rosebud...Rosebud....where have I heard that name ? Then I looked closely at your avatar and it came to me. Rosebud was the sleigh that burns in the opening scene of Citizen Cane. The movie loosely based on the life of William Randolph Hearst, the newspaper mogul. A great movie.

As of 6 to 8 weeks ago, MiniMania's forum no longer allows photo posts from Safari; Mac or iPhone, most likely iPad too. I use Chrome (ugh!) whenever I need to post a pic then I immediately switch back to Safari. The webmaster has been advised, but the issue remains.

That makes perfect sense. Thank you Don. BTW- i’ve Tried to reply to your text and photos 4 times today, and after typing several paragraphs my IPad would just crash ! Not sure what is wrong, but it’s been acting up lately. Perhaps I’ve got a virus ? Anyway, I’ll be trying again tomorrow ??. ??. Darren.

You must loosen the U bolts that hold the rack in place. Look under the front carpet, there will
be 4 nuts to loosen. Then drop the steering wheel. Cheers

Actually we got our first real amount of snow today. We only have about 6 inches of light, powdery snow ??. That Tartan material was on a JDM automatic trans Mini that was on Kijiji for months last year. You may have seen it if you check Kijiji for Minis like I did for about a year...lol. Nice looking cloth if you like Scottish “stuff” ;-)... Spitz, perhaps when my Mini arrives from Lethbridge I’ll pop over and show it to you. You’re in British Columbia, right ? Big Al, the one I was eyeing in Oakville is still there and still for sale. I ended up passing on that one mainly because with A/C and SPI I got to thinking that if it quits on me, I might have trouble diagnosing and repairing it verses a carbed car ( Holy crow things are cramped under the bonnet ). I read where you have to send the ECU to England if it is the trouble, plus the car was RHD and I hoped to find a good LHD car ( which I did manage to find ). Also the interior was scruffy and of course it had the plastic dash. I also hoped to find a Mini with the basic 3 instrument centre binnical. And the car I found had that too. So for what I wanted, it was worth the wait and the long distance transport. I also think the price was quite fair and inside my budget ( remember that we discussed that ? ), even with the transport costs. As Paul Harvey used to say; now you know the rest of the story. But I truly love your Countryman and I know that you offered me a very good price, but it was outside my budget. It’s on this site now, correct ? BTW- Don sent me a really nice group of Mini photos , including bluebox. That is really an awesome machine. Am I correct that you two live fairly close to each other ? And how are you doing Big Al ? Will you be returning to Florida this winter ? In closing, if anyone in the Lethbridge area is looking for a classic Mini, I suggest you contact Braden Huffman at Longbridge Motors. I bought from him , and he seems to be a very straight shooter attempting to move his sales and service buisness towards centering on classic Mini sales and parts. A genuine gent. Well I just heard Lupin ( you remember my cat Big Al ? ) meowing that it’s bedtime, so I must sign off for now. Best regards gang, Derwood. PS- I need a bit of help. To fit a steering wheel drop bracket, do I need to loosen the steering rack ? Or does the column swing down when the stock bracket is removed ? Many thanks ??.
