Get a helper. Make sure you have them positioned correctly so that the front glass is on the outside. Slide both pieces to where they are together. Put the upper channel in place then with your assistant on the outside of the door, set both windows in the lower channel with it sitting on the locking rail. Have the assistant feed both windows into the upper channel while you slide the base (locking rail , channel, and glass) into place. Make sure to mark with tape where the metal strips cross under the channel so you'll know where to drill for the screws to hold it all together. Main thing to do is try not to drop the glass while maneuvering it into place.. Good luck!

I just removed my sliding windows on my 1963 Austin Mini. I found some rust in the upper frame and I plan on using POR-15 and then painting. My repair book says to use Mastic, what have people used and where can I get it. Also where can I buy an Almond Green spray can for touch up. Also if anyone has tips on how to re-install my windows it would be greatly appreciated.
