Ha Ha yes Al! I see that my MM email has finally been turned off, so yes, [email protected] works, and also [email protected] for those used to the NBA spelling of my name!
Please note that this post started months ago when I discussed with Bill my wanting a bare shell. I'm not sure how I became the west coast order-taker, so let me clarify that I have no such arrangement - yet.
I'm looking in to importing bare shells, just the body. A sheet-metal object built in a factory much like an outdoor barbeque. You can use it to replace a damaged one, or as a yard ornament, even a barbeque! I have no interest in any other Chinese supplied items. I've said I find the bumpers and top and all the other bits that make a Choke to be beyond hideous looking, and would not even consider using Chinese subframes or brakes, not when the real things are available right here or from England.
It remains a mystery to me how or if Bill is able to import complete "running" Chokes with their "modern" Chinese running gear. Are there enough big estates in The Hamptons for folks to have a Choke for playing with much like those Polaris off road jeep things that are becoming more common? Frankly, I'd much rather have the Polaris if I also had an estate! But I would think the other 49 states might not recognize the country of North Carolina's willy nilly assignment of VIN plates, and the lack of DOT or EPA scrutiny..... have you tried to buy a weedeater in California lately?
So, there must be somebody out here that has bought one of these from Bill.... A complete turn-key car I mean. I hear he's always sold out for the year! Let's hear about your experience! How do the Chinese brakes hold up? What happens in other states' DMV offices? Does anyone have the modern FI China engine, or are all of Bill's supplied with rebuilt (or just used) 998 A+ running gear? I hope it doesn't look like I'm making trouble for Bill, but as he says, he's a licensed and bonded dealer and importer, and even in North Carolina, that means public access to info, and these are valid questions for folks that don't need financing, or the wife's permission. I want to know what happens if Bufford T. Justice pulls you over in Texas in one of these!

my first Cooper S was British Racing Green Dark with a u Wimbledon white roof. Great car. I never should have... yeah. That might be why my eyeball was grabbed by the Moke, it was a dark green.... not Kaw green. Just saying they were heading south. I had just been down in Hialeah picking up a 1980s Snap-On 16-drawer tool chest, you keep your eyes open in Meeyami, down there you see all sort of whatsit.

Not sure if these are the same Mokes but around 2004 Dion J and myself sold his Kawasaki green Moke and my Aussie Yellow Moke to a couple of guys (Dr's i think) in the Palm Beach area. Funny we were just talking about never hearing anything more about them
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

other day, heading north on I-95 into Martin County I saw two Mokes heading south into Palm Beach County. Green one on top of hauler, lighter color one behind being towed front wheels up. They are out there...

So Bill, is your mark up on top of the $5,500. Or is it built in ?
How long will the $5,500. Price be in effect for?
What about currency fluctuations ??
Do we have. To pay up front for a shell
Is there a warranty ???
How good is the paint ????
Is it leaded paint?????
What colour choices do l have ???? ?
Just curious
