Second on the optima battery. "Barb" has a yellow top and I will be checking it soon. Don't expect any issues just like last year, checked it and it fired right up!

As others have implied, probably the most important thing is a snug fit in your battery well. Next would be the CCA rating—more is better. Just depends on how much you want to spend. You don't need to be concerned about reserve amps. unless you've added a bunch of aftermarket electronics. Nothing in your car is draining the battery when the ignition is off, unlike modern cars. I've had good luck with Optima red tops. I've had them last in my daily drivers for 8-10 yrs. They're expensive initially, but I think cheaper in the long run, and they've never let me down.

measure the battery box and take your tape to the store and measure the battery.
I'd say a minimum is 650 cold cranking amps. I like 800 and the price should not be different.
It will get you started in the deep frozen coldest winter.

well. it depends.. the 26r will work from WALLY WORLD.. or if you have SPI or MPI.. I recommend a 1000 cranking amps.. Interstate is the best.. same size and height . cheap one from WW. is $59 , the good one is $119. later bc

I picked up a new battery for my mid 80s classic this week. The one coming out was a 624MF and is a good fit ( tight ) in a plastic liner. Replaced with the same. Steve (CTR)

I need to buy a battery for my 1977 mini. I don't think the old battery is the correct size. What is the correct size battery for a classic mini?
