240 BHP Cooper ' S'
One of our customers Andrew Bray who lives in malaysia contacted us with the request for a "very fast cooper 'S' but with reliabilty and of course a warranty on the conversion - No Problem - we suggested he obtain a dyno reading before work started which he did obtaining a respectable 163 BHP and 180 Torque reading.
We then supplied him our Stage 3 Big Value, ported and polished cylinder head, coupled with our Ultric camshaft, Cold air induction kit, throttle body and 15% pully (Using a smaller pulley than this can create issues with reliabilty and extra heating of the charge air) that will take care of the air into the engine, then we also supplied our exhaust manifold and Borla sport exhaust which will take care of the air out of the engine, to increase the ignition spark we supplied a plasma booster and iridium spark plugs with Nology plug leads, a larger intercooler was fitted and to reduce the rotating mass within the engine/drivetrain a light weight clutch and lightweight flywheel was supplied, that took care of the power transmission!!!
So as to stop as quickly as it will go Andrew fitted our Stoptech Big Brake Kit and Spax adjustable coilovers,
THE RESULT --- Now on the dyno, he made 240 BHP and more impressively 238 Torque!!!!, at 32 degrees C, thats a 45% increase over his original figures, and has one very very quick Cooper 'S' which has performed faultlessly in the tropical heat of malaysia. Now you would think that Andrews' Cooper 'S' was "finished" but no he's now ordered a nitrous kit!!!
