Rebuilt gearbox. The 'rod change' gearbox was the final and arguably the best design and can be adapted to any Classic Mini. These were factory installed in most Minis manufactured after January 1973.  We rebuild these late model gearboxes with the best available components from our vast inventory of disassembled units. New bearings, synchros, gaskets and seals are installed & this version is set up with the 3.44 final drive differential, probably the most versatile ratio for the way the Mini was intended to be driven!

We also offer a complete kit that adapts this design to replace the standard 'remote style' or early 'magic wand' transmission if you are upgrading to a bigger engine  (see part number MMKT0803).

I need to replace my gearbox due a road accident with a stone which breaks it, the question is: which of the ones you have is the most suitable for my car, it is not a race car, just a daily driver? It a 1977 5 speed 1275cc engine.

There are lots of variations. It depends on the type of driving you do in your Mini. Some come with limited slip differentials and different final drives. 
There shouldn't be any fitment issues as you already have a 5-speed and all of the 5-speeds are made in the same type gearbox housing with the same type shifter (rod change type).

We can order a close ratio 5-speed box, with helical gears and a cross pin diff with a 3.44 final drive.
