Mini Cooper Clutch and Flywheel Kit from Valeo, the oem supplier to MINI.  This is a complete Clutch and Flywheel Kit for LESS THAN the price of the factory dual mass flyhweel without the clutch kit!

If you want to get your MINI back on the road without the expense of MINI factory parts or 'brand name' parts, this is the way to go!

This kit replaces the factory dual mass flywheel with a single mass solid flywheel.

Fits the following Cooper S models with the 6-speed manual transmission:

2002-2006 R53 MINI Cooper S Hardtop
2005-2008 R52 MINI Cooper S Convertible

Solid flywheel conversion kit that replaces the original dual-mass unit includes:

  • (1) Solid Flywheel
  • (1) Clutch Disc
  • (1) Pressure Plate
  • (1) Release Bearing
  • (6) Pressure Plate Bolts
  • (8) Flywheel Bolts
NOTE:  The factory Dual Mass Flywheel 'dampens' the gearbox noise making it quieter when idling.  When you replace the dual mass flywheel with a single mass 'solid' unit, you lose the dampening and can result in slighlty more gearbox noise.

How to find the right Clutch Replacement for your MINI Cooper
Created: June 19, 2015
Identifying the correct MINI Factory Clutch Kit can be confusing. The part number varies depending on the production year, Cooper or Cooper S, and engine type. The chart below should help you find the correct kit. The clutch on the Mini is designed to function properly at a given horsepower figure (plus some headroom).  As the Mini engine gets upgraded producing more power than stock, the increased horsepower can overpower the stock clutch's clamping force and/or the friction material on the clutch disc.  This can cause excessive clutch slip and the net result is a burnt clutch making the Mini non-operational.
