The Mini Cooper has earned much of its reputation from its superb handling and performance. But many of us would like to have both great handling AND a comfortable ride as an everyday street car. The stock Mini Cooper suspension is most often politely called "stiff". With the very short wheel base and rubber cone suspension, it is hardly a comfortable car to use daily. Using new technology coil springs makes a noticeable improvement in ride comfort without compromising handling. This kit includes coil springs, Hi/Lo adjustable cones, KYB shocks, and most importantly, a rear sway bar.

Question:
I have a 1968 Austin Cooper pickup truck with stock suspension. Will this kit work as a direct replacement or will I need to purchase other parts? Is there anything else I should consider upgrading while or replacing when purchasing this kit?
Answer:
The suspension on the Saloon is the same as the PU so this kit should be everything you need. You might want to inspect all of your bushings, ball joints and tie rods while your in there.
We have kits for those as well.
Hope that helps.

Classic Mini Suspension, Steering and Handling Data 1959-2000
Created: June 08, 2000
The data on this page relates to all Minis unless specified. Major changes to suspension and steering are limited to the introduction of a new steering rack and steering arms for Mk2-on models. Mk2 steering arms have two `ears' to aid in the use of ball joint splitters; this is how they may be differentiated from Mk1 steering arms.
