EBC Redstuff Ceramic Front Brake Pads. As EBC’s flagship street brake pad material for prestige and faster cars, EBC Redstuff ceramic Brake pads sets new standards in brake performance. Redstuff is the EBC premium low dust pad for fast street driving. Includes the front set of 4 pads.

There are two reasons our customers love Redstuff, First because they are the lowest dust pad we have encountered by reducing dust by 60-90%. Plus the minimal dust you see is very easily removed with a simple sponge wash as it contains no steel fibre particles as in all other pads. Second they brake like an alligator right from cold (as good as Original pads or better) and just get better as they heat up.

Fits the following MINI Cooper JCW models with the 335x30mm front rotors:

2014-2022 F56 MINI Cooper JCW Hardtop (including GP3)
2016-2022 F57 MINI Cooper JCW Convertible

Description:

Redstuff is a aramid fibre based brake compound enhanced with ceramic particles. We do NOT use Ceramic fibers in any of our pads. Red is copper-free for environmental legislation, also free of sulphides or lead and a low dust material, and fully ECE R 90 brake safety tested and approved.

There is always “Some:” dust from brakes as they wear but the major advantage of the EBC range is that we use zero steel fiber in our pads and instead use less aggressive aramid fibers such as Twaron® and Kevlar® which are easy to wash off wheels and do not etch into wheel lacquers or alloy

Features:

  • Redstuff ceramic brake pads, passenger car/saloon car pad NOT made for Truck or SUV fitments
  • EBC lowest dust fast street pad with 15% brake improvement
  • Capable of repeated heavy brake use without brake “Fall-Off”
  • Very minimal disc/rotor damage characteristics
  • Superb material for Prestige imports/European and Asian cars
  • ECE R 90 type approved for most cars
  • Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install
  • Made with Nucap NRS hooks on backplates to totally eliminate the chance of pad debond

High friction formula improves brake effect 15%

Redstuff ceramic brake pads have always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further. Tested at the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) in witnessed tests early Redstuff reduced car stopping distance in tests by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.

These pads are coated with 'BRAKE-IN SURFACE COATING':

  • Effective immediately after installation
  • Conditions rotor surface
  • Prevents early life noise
  • Helps pads bed-in fast.

EBC Redstuff is also a long-wearing pad and as such takes approx 500Kms to fully bed down and show its full performance. To assist the bed-in, however, all EBC pads are surface coated with our Brake-in ™ pad brake in accelerator compound.

Brake Dust

Some BRAKE DUST is inevitable from every brake pad and it is impossible to totally eliminate dust otherwise brake vibration will occur. We never advertise ZERO DUST we only advertise LESS DUST and we appreciate that in some cases dust will be almost the same as original pads. However, please note that dust is always more severe in the first 1000 miles of driving especially if pads were fitted to partly worn rotors. Another condition which promotes significant dust is wrong pad compound choice. If you have a car with over 200bhp (horse power) or drive above what we might call a spirited street level, for example green pads would not be suitable and red ceramic, being a slightly harder pad, can handle these higher speeds and loads and gives off less dust … there may be cases of overload where the Green pads are carbonising in use and a higher spec pad (Red Ceramic) is needed. Yellow compounds are a fantastic brake, probably our best but they are equal in dust to Original parts and should not be chosen if a low dust pad is what you need. Our CLEANEST pads are RED CERAMIC for sedans.

NOTE:
Brakes are a safety critical part of your vehicle and should be installed by a competent mechanic following vehicle manufacturers installation procedure. The surface of these brake pads is coated with a red coating known as BRAKE-IN. This coating helps your newly installed brake pads to 'seat' or bed-in quickly. However, pads should be used gently for the first 100 miles until optimum braking is observed. Being a hard wearing pad, bed-in times can be as long as 1000 miles and drivers must be patient until the pad takes up the shape of their disc (brake rotor).

Rotors should be replaced with new when installing new brake pads. Failure to do so can result in brake noise as well as reduced braking efficiency. Avoid contamination of pad surface with any forms of grease that you may use to lubricate caliper sliders.

Manufacturers Warranty applies.

Brake fluid should be replaced every 2 years. See Mini Cooper Brake Fluid Pentosin DOT4 for high quality brake fluid.

EBC Yellowstuff™ Front Brake Pads for light track or street performance. Suitable for occasional track day application and perfectly safe and effective for the street! EBC yellows are ECE Brake safety tested which means they must work perfectly from cold at least as good or better than stock pads. Includes the front set of 4 pads.

A high friction pad that works from cold and self seats after installation due to its applied brake-in surface coating. Although the new Yellow grade WILL work fine under shorter duration track, trackday (lapping) use on lighter cars or drifting, it does take longer to bed in, and if track driving is your main purpose, choose Bluestuff or allow extra time for bedding your brakes in

Fits the following MINI Cooper JCW models with the 335x30mm front rotors:

2014-2022 F56 MINI Cooper JCW Hardtop
2016-2022 F57 MINI Cooper JCW Convertible

Front pads are different for Cooper vs. Cooper S. The rear pads are the same for both Cooper and Cooper S. Select accordingly.

Product Description

When Yellowstuff see some heat (which is not tested for in the ECE R 90 brake safety regulations) they really show their pedigree. On Japanese cars built with lower friction FF-rated pads these deliver a full grade higher stopping and on German cars built with GG these are about the only aftermarket pads that will match or beat the pretty good German OE spec pads and that takes some doing.

High-efficiency performance pad for high friction and improved stopping power.

Not only a high friction pad but very resistant to heat and lots of heavy braking means that Yellowstuff has been used with great success in fast street cars and Police vehicle brakes alike.

EBC Yellowstuff was upgraded during 2021 to remove copper from the mix to comply with environmental legislations and as the new mix lasts longer it is not now being suggested as a track material due to the longer bedding in process required. On the street, bedding happens naturally in the first 100-200 miles of urban use but for those drivers wishing to arrive at the track with new pads and enjoy their day, our current suggestion is to use the Bluestuff formulation for track day driving both front and rear.

Because of its huge heat range, the applications where EBC Yellowstuff will deliver benefits range from fastest street use on higher horsepower cars on most street-based cars. In trackday/drift/hillclimb races where earlier Yellow blends were suggested, although track capable, is no longer recommended for track use on most cars due to its long bed-in process. BlueStuff is now our recommended entry-level race pad for all vehicles, which as a track hybrid is still great on the street and even better on track. But if you are to use Yellowstuff on the track, follow the below Fade procedures.

Race Drivers Love it because…

EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with a high brake effect from cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for street and track driving. These pads do require some warm-up but get even stronger under the heat of hard driving. These are not a low dust pad, if your desire is for a low dust premium street use pad, you should consider EBC Redstuff. Please note however Redstuff is not for the track.

When considering full race use, Yellowstuff has been a strong favorite, having been used for two years in the Swedish Camaro Cup and at numerous other race events where a stock caliper system is fitted. It is also the choice of 90% of the Mazda MX5 Miata competitors in the UK race series and has an unblemished record as rotor friendly trackpad for vehicles up to 3500 lbs or 1600 kilos weight.

The SCCA and NASA drivers have been testing Yellowstuff with feedback and good reports POURING in from a 543 test driver major market proving event with these groups. Read that figure again 543 test drivers. There is no guesswork here.

Because of its huge heat range, the applications where EBC Yellowstuff will deliver benefits range from fastest street use on higher horsepower cars and race use on most street-based cars and even as a brake upgrade on Trucks and SUVs. Yellowstuff is especially appreciated on Trucks for towing and heavy loads and where wheel and tire oversize upgrades have been fitted.

In 2022 EBC introduced their new faster bedding Bluestuff grade which has even higher fade resistance than yellow and has a super fast bed in time. If you want a super-fast bed-in at the track, go for the Blue grade.

High friction formula improves brake effect by 15%

  • Our flagship top selling high friction brake pad for improved braking – UK made and a very high-end pad
  • Suitable for Fast streetcars, trucks and SUVs wherever a decent brake power upgrade is required.
  • Super quiet smooth braking under all conditions, fully shimmed slotted and chamfered construction
  • Excellent cold bite coupled with high-temperature fade resistance
  • Progressive braking with unparalleled pedal feel
  • Drastically reduced stopping distances compared to OE
  • Brake-In™ coating for accelerated pad bed in period
  • R90 approved thus legal for public highway use in European markets
  • For track use, Bluestuff may be a better choice due to bedding in speed which is much shorter with Blue
  • Made with Nucap NRS hooks on back plates to totally eliminate the chance of pad debond

EBC Greenstuff™ 2000 Series Rear Sport Brake pads for the JCW MINI. These are sport street pads that are a direct replacement for your stock or original pads reducing stopping distances and improving brake response. As an eco-friendly pad grade, EBC Greenstuff 2000 contains no lead, copper, or toxic sulfides to comply with all environmental legislation. Includes the rear set of 4 pads.

Compatible with MINI brake wear sensors.

Fits the following MINI Cooper JCW models with the 335x30mm front rotors:

2014-2019 F56 Hardtop MINI Cooper JCW
2016-2019 F57 Convertible MINI Cooper JCW

Not ideal for track use, although many drivers have used Greenstuff 2000 for Hillclimb and lighter cars on the track. The green range is approved to ECE R90 for highway use.

Description:

  • A medium to low dust material that offer a nominal 10-15% brake improvement
  • Improved resistance to heat fade at higher speeds
  • Suits modern Euro and Asian models alike
  • ECE R90 approved for all cars that require the European legislation compliance
  • Red brake-in surface coating accelerates pad brake in after install
  • Features red “brake in’ surface coating for instant safe braking after install
  • Pads made with the Nucap NRS hook technology to ensure 100% secure pad bond

EBC Greenstuff™ has a high initial brake effect and gives drivers confidence from first application of the brake pedal. There is no such thing as a no dust pad. The very nature of how a brake works requires that some dust be generated to avoid rotor vibration (shimmying). The EBC pad creates less dust and dust is more easily washed off than most. All pads create more dust as they are bedding in especially if rotors are worn. Nominal friction coefficient 0.55. For heavier faster cars we strongly recommend Redstuff which does offer much less dust.

These pads are coated with 'BRAKE-IN SURFACE COATING'.

  • Effective immediately after installation
  • Conditions rotor surface
  • Prevents early life noise
  • Helps pads bed-in fast.

For even faster street driving you might consider the EBC Yellowstuff grade or for race use the EBC new Bluestuff.
