Turn your smartphone into a heads-up display! This device allows your smartphone to connect to and display your vehicle's onboard diagnostic system with the appropriate 3rd party applications. Plug it into the OBDII port, pair your device, and using one of many 3rd party applications you will be able to monitor a wide variety of parameters that are read by the vehicle's ECU. You can use these applications to:

  • Measure OBD Data streams
  • Scan and clear CELs
  • View Multiple Customizable gauges
  • Keep Data logs
  • Monitor MPG and Fuel Efficiency
  • View Engine Sensor Data

Save time and money by monitoring the health of your engine so you can approach service proactively. By clearing your own codes you can also avoid a costly trip to the dealer after performing your own maintenance.

  • Vehicle Compatibility: The device is compatible in any car that uses the OBDII protocol. In the US this includes any vehicle sold from 1996 to the present.
  • Smartphone Compatibility: The device can connect to most smartphones via Bluetooth.
The G2NMA1237 Bluetooth OBDII Wireless Connector is a Bluetooth device - it will connect to your phone just like just like you would 'pair' your phone to your car using Bluetooth. Since it is Bluetooth, it does not care whether you have a iPhone or Android.
  • Unobtrusive: Low profile design stays tucked away, protruding less than 1.5 inches more than the OBD port itself. The OBD II connector gets its power directly from the OBD port and the Bluetooth model even has an on/off switch so it can be shut off if left for extended periods.
  • Smartphone Apps - There are many 3rd party applications available to read the information coming from your OBDII connector.

Here are some suggested apps:

Android: Torque
The Torque app is "an Engine performance diagnostic tool for automotive professionals and enthusiasts." Sold separately in the Google Play Store. Find more information here: https://torque-bhp.com/
iOS: Dash Command
DashCommand is loaded with features, including a skid pad, race track, virtual dashboards, inclinometer, and OBD-II data logging & diagnostics. Sold separately on iTunes. Find more information here: www.palmerperformance.com

Question:
Is there a OBD2 bluetooth scannner that will allow live monitoring of the automatic transmission temperature in a 2011 MINI Cooper S?
Answer:
We offer an OBDII bluetooth scanner that works with phones but I believe it depends on the app you use which systems and components it monitors.

Question:
I was wondering if this wireless bluetooth could allow you to control calls-music and so on from the steering wheel directly or will I have to still use my phone to control it?
Answer:
No, as far as we know, you need the appropriate software in the MINI to enable calls, music control, etc. These features when available were an option from the factory.
