The only real solution is a GPS unit. You can buy dedicated GPS speed indicators but my ElCheapo Navman has a speed readout.

To add to what Xavier wrote, you need to add in tire wear, which over the life of the tires will be more than 2%.

While there isn't a way to "correct" the speed calculation - it's pretty moot... since speedometers are typically off by more than 2% anyway. I completely factory '07 is off by 7mph around the 60mph mark and reads much faster than I am actually driving
