Just noticed it's an auto....I hadn't realised that before.  Might bring price down somewhat.  Easy enough to swap it out for a manual if someone wanted to though.

JEFF;

another suggestion , maybe consider bringing the Elf up to Rockton Brit Parts show on Sunday October 17th, just stick a for sale sign on it and stand by

I reckon it’s a 25 mile drive for you, be there by 9:00 AM, gone by 1:00 PM, maybe just find a buyer

commercial trucking can still cross the border.  You and I cant go across, buy a car, and haul it back.
https://www.ezbordercrossing.com/coronavirus-travel-issues/

The rules are shifting, not sure when it will be open, my guess sometime in 2022.  You might contact one agency of government that will tell you its OK and then still get turned back at the border.

if you're in Canada and thinking of selling it into the US, you might check and see if you can get it cross the border. AFIK, the borders are closed to Canada.

Hi Steve and thanks for your message. Indeed it is as I haven't even posted it yet as we are in the middle of a provincial shut down. It will be sold 'as is'. If your friend is interested, please feel free to send him my details. Cheers.

Just wanted to thank everyone for all of the assistance - you guys have been great and hopefully I can find Katy a nice new home. If anyone knows of someone looking for an Elf, please let me know or send them my details.

You know, with that amount of work needed, the fact there isn't a local restorer available isn't such a big deal. You could pay the shipping somewhere and it would only be a small portion of the restoration costs.

It's not economic to restore of course, you won't get your money back so it would be only based on emotion if you wanted to do it.

If you want to sell, sell as is, but you won't get a whole lot. I do however retract my previous statement about being worth less than a regular Mini. In this state, you'll probably get a bit more as some of the parts are worth a few bob (Grille, bonnet spear etc.)

Ok all - finally some pics of Katy. The first one is her in all her glory in London. The rest are present day in storage. Tried to provide as honest pics as possible. Hope this helps and thanks everyone for the help so far! Unfortunately the two recommendations so far are on the coasts and I'm in the middle though not far from Big Al so hopefully can track him down and seek his expertise. Cheers all!

There is a really nice Elf in Moncton, NB, but I've lost track of them.
That doesn't help you repair it but if you had questions...someone may know their name.

You do realize it's just a Mini with some added bits right?

Welcome

As a Riley Elf is basically a Mini in fancy dress, you can expand your search horizon to include garages or vendors that cater to classic Minis. Contact BIG AL (screen name here: oldminimover) for information on Mini businesses closer to you. Email me if you can't find him.
