Had to change my password too. Really liked using that old one as it was for the first online site I ever used and I could not pick it - MM assigned it to me!

Yes, that is correct. since accounts are email bound we can't have multiple accounts with the same email. if you can't access your old email we can change it, but not if you already created a new account with the new email.

Sorry, there isn't a blanket response, because emails are account bound, so we do not have a way for them to be changed on the user end, we have to manually do it on the back end.
Actually that's not the email advice I received... or maybe I just don't understand it.

"Unfortunately, since you created a new sign on wit the new email we can't do much. We can change sign on emails to a more current one, but I can't change it to an email for an account that exists as they are email bound accounts."

Because my original email address is defunct, it can't be used to reactivate my old account.  And if i use a new email address then I can't use my old account name (as that is still in use but attached to an inaccessible account).

So it, and all its history, is consigned to the bit-bucket....

Cheers, Ian

Except.... not all of us live (any more) where 1-800 works ... and despite the invitation .... it seems you can ask but just can't expect to be be answered.

Hind-sight is wonderful: perhaps a locked notice at the top of the forum to inform us of the changes to login requirements would have been helpful.
But if you use the other button, the "? Ask Question" one gives you other options. That's what I did, and Rick and Dennis both got back to me within a day and fixed my issues.

ps we also implemented a new 2 factor authentication feature for the account logins that provides a little extra security for those that chose to use it, that's why the site required you to log in again.

Or you could just go ahead and ask for help instead of waiting for someone to notice you complaining on the forum and then getting snarky when they don't.

I had issues because I could never get my old email changed so the password notifications were all going to an old non-existent email. I used the help button and Rick fixed me up! Good to go now.

I tried to log in and it said my account was expired. Had to reset my password and then I was good to go.
Techno-gremlins. Gotta love em. Maybe the backup for the server runs off of a Lucas system. Lol.

.
Simple recipe for Excitement:  Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

At least it's just not me. I had to try a couple of times.

I just clicked on 6464s and I got 6464s.miniowners.com which I never signed onto. This means I'm taking someone else name.

I don't know but it took me 4 or 5 login resets to get back on. I was almost ready to panic at not getting my Mini fix.
