It could be the drive output. Investigate where the oil is coming from. It could also be coming from the tappet cover or valve cover.

While it is true classic mini power units are often hard to seal it is possible. There is a tool kit for removing and replacing the
big orange seal. I have which means it can be done in the car. Check the cotter pin located at the lowest point in the clutch
housing. It should be wet with oil if coming from the seal. Steve (CTR)

Contrary to what Kermy says, not all Minis leak and it is possible to determine the location and reason for the leak and fix it. (And it is not always a case of insufficient crankcase ventilation either.) Since you suspect it may be a seal leak near the clutch. I would attend to it. Better to have to replace a seal and the necessary bits that go into the job than having to strip and clean the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate if/when the leak gets worse and coats everything in the clutch housing.

Its not leaking, its just marking its spot. You'll never sort out a Mini's oil leaks. If its not too bad don't worry about it. The main problem is there are not enough breathers on a Mini and the pressure in the engine makes all the seals leak.

I have a Mk1 67 mini cooper 998 remote tran.I have a oil leak thats under the car after i drive it.It seems to be under the tran towards the clutch side.I think it could be that red oil seal on crank by the cluch. Is there any other places that could also be the problem areas. The oil leak is about a 4in.on the ground. Is there a way to replace that seal without removeing the engine from car. Thanks Robert Nehrbass
