Yes, running 12s, and I edited the post to show that.

13" wheels are hard on front wheel bearings plus you have to butcher the front wings/fenders. Why do that?

Simple recipe for Excitement:  Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

I have 2 inch arches, and my Fallen 165/60/12s are within a millimeter or two of being flush. Not sure on my offset, though. I'm using the Minilite wheels that came with the car when I bought it. My goal is to get as much rubber on the road without exceeding the flares by more than a couple of millimeters...

I have been pondering the same question.

As per JohnBrownWheels website, in regards to Minilights, they state that the 13x7 wheels with a -7mm offset are 7kg (15.4LBS) and the 12x6 wheels with a -7mm offset are 4.3kg (9.5LBS). But then it would also matter what offset that you go with. The 13x5 MiniLights with a +20mm offset are 5.4kg (11.9LBS), and the 13x6 with a +16mm offset are 5.5kg (12.1LBS).

That would be a noticeable difference either way between the 12's and 13's. And like already stated, that's just the wheels, then you have to add the weight of the tires too.

I'm also wondering which offset to go with though. I'd like to get an ABS Motorsport body kit that has flares/arches. With similar arches to a sports pack style, would the 12x6 be good enough to be flush with the outer edge of the arches? I'd like it to be at least flush with that edge. Don't like the look of when the tires/wheels are tucked inward from the edge of the arches/flares. If anything, I wouldn't even mind if they were a bit out passed the arch edge. Just not set inwards. Seen a lot of 13x7's with the arches. Just wondering what it would take to get the 12's flush with arches. But then there's a lot of different arches out there too. So it's hard to gauge how it'll be.

So I've pretty much decided to go with the Ultralite Minilite in silver, in either the 12 or 13 inch size. If anybody has a new or mint set please let me know.

Gotcha, so maybe I'll stick with the 12s and go for the lightest ones I can find. Thanks for the link to the wheel dictionary site!

" I want to keep the traditional look, "

You won't really have that look with 13" wheels.  Don't the front part of the fenders also need to be cut back to go to 13"?

I have a Sport Pac and the 13s are very heavy compared to my 12s. The 13 inch tires are heavy as well. We have gone with alloy swing arms and hubs at rear and hubs, drive flanges and calipers at the front reducing unsprung. Steve (CTR)

Most of the guys on the UK sites say Force Racing are some of the lightest 13". They list it as 3.4 kg for a 7" wheel. However if you really want it light KAD 10" mags are 2.2 kg and $500 ea.....

I'm considering going from my current 12s to 13 inch wheels, but nobody has any information posted on their respective sites about how much their wheels weigh. I want to keep the traditional look, but really want to reduce unsprung weight on the corners. Thanks for any help in advance!
