I’m kinda wondering why the BAT owner identified his car as a K?? (Obviously there are a few other checks you would want to run).

yes, and a "K" is YG2S1...

No engine number present Ian. The 1330 engine was built by Se7en in California, from the pictures it is an A+ block with an 11 stud head and twin HS4's with a remote change gearbox fwiw it sounded good in the driving video.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

A very interesting car that.   Unfortunately I have UK cars and so am not thaaaat familiar with the Oz versions (although I did have a Mk II S) some time ago.

While we didn't badge cars as Mk Is, IIs etc this is what I would call a Mk III in that its a transition model to the Clubman. And a very rare car for that...  For example the Mk III doors ..with the flappy paddle door handles will not fit a MK I/II body.

The "BAT" car has lots of less obvious S features (vinyl on the dash, sloped slam panel support) as well as twin tanks (it would be interesting to see the rear firewall mountings for the Rt hand tank), S instruments etc.  If its a K then a lot of time and effort has been spent on the S conversion.  I wonder if the metal support brackets for the flairs are spot welded to the shell ... as they were for the S.  Ks didn't have flairs.

The Mini K and the S were two very different models..so the blurb on BAT about it being an S with the K denoting an OZ model is a heap of batsh&t.  The K was the last iteration of the Deluxe; with an 1100 engine, drum brakes etc, although the body was shared with the S.  But it wasn't an S.

I think someone missed out....

Cheers, Ian

PS Did it have rear cover plates?? And what was the engine number?
