Hey guys,
this is my first time on this forum. I am looking to buy either a 2005 MCS with 140k miles or a 2007 MCS with 71k miles on it,. Both cars are standard transmission. I guess my main questions are — are there any major concerns with either vehicle? Is there a certain one you would get over the other? I know I’ve heard horror stories about the N14 motor, but are those just the people who “expect” a car to drive immaculately w/o maintenance?
The 2005 is owned by an ASE certified mechanic. And he says he doesn’t have any documents for repairs.
The 2007 has recently had a new water pump, timing chain, thermostat, and valve cover installed. Less than 60 miles on the timing chain.
I will be test driving both vehicles to see which one I ultimately like to drive more. —are there any there any recommendations for me to look at on both vehicles?
Come back after your drive and let us know your impressions...
