I guess my main questions are — are there any major concerns with either vehicle? Is there a certain one you would get over the other? I know I’ve heard horror stories about the N14 motor, but are those just the people who “expect” a car to drive immaculately w/o maintenance?

The 2005 is owned by an ASE certified mechanic. And he says he doesn’t have any documents for repairs.

The 2007 has recently had a new water pump, timing chain, thermostat, and valve cover installed. Less than 60 miles on the timing chain.

I will be test driving both vehicles to see which one I ultimately like to drive more. —are there any there any recommendations for me to look at on both vehicles?

I believe you need to decide after you drive the cars since these are very different cars and it is very subjective as to which one is 'better'. There are definite pros and cons for either model.

Come back after your drive and let us know your impressions...
