Thanks for sending the video...  It's difficult to say with certainty, but it sure looks like something in or around the differential inside the transmission has play where there shouldn't be. There doesn't appear to be excessive play in the CV joint that I can see....

Perhaps you can take your car to a transmission specialist to see what they might say - preferably a shop familiar with BMW's or MINIs.....
Ken, thank you so much for helping me figure this out. I will try to take the car to a transmission shop, as soon as possible. Thanks again your help is really appreciated.

No, there shouldn't be any vertical play where the axle enters the transmission. The drivers side should be the same snug fit as on the passenger side...

Since there is a seal where the axle enters the transmission, are you seeing any signs of oil leak on the drivers side where the axle enters the transmission?
