Thank you KenatMiniMania.  This morning, the engine light was not on and I took my Mini to Advance Auto Parts and they were able to get my code.

Thank you in advance for your help.
If you have a warning light on in the dash, the computer has recorded an error code.  Take your MINI to one of the national auto parts chain store and they should read the code for you free of charge. The code will point us in the general area where a problem may exist.

If the check engine light is not red, or the car is not in 'limp mode' - you should be okay to drive it.
