Probably not going to get much help on this forum, these guys are mostly classic Mini's, not the BMW MINI's. But with that being said, I would say just replace the bulb. Maybe something aftermarket and not from the dealer might be less expensive.

So I educated myself - if someone can confirm I am correct it would be great - HID is also xenon and all I have to do to (to start anyway) is replace the bulb.

Hello All - here's a strange one.....2012 Countryman ALL4 with HID headlamps and 84,000 miles. All of a sudden the left headlamp is becoming purple/pink while the right one remains normal. The light is not flickering or dimming, just changing color. There has been no damage to the vehicle and no changes or modifications to the headlamps. I know the HID systems are expensive and would appreciate any hints before I go the stealership route. Thanks very much. John
