With access to a CNC lathe, you could make the knuckle cups of a known nylon material, shouldn't be too expensive to have made.

Boots are another animal, but possible to find good ones that would work from a more modern OEM application. I just need to work for a auto parts supply house a couple of weeks to find the right match.

Good point Big Al.

My intent was to start an impromptu review of products to stay away from and ones to buy. It takes an awful lot of work to maintain and keep our little pets alive and happy.

Chinese cheap crap products, no one could afford to make good quality parts with the limited volume classic mini owners demand

Sad but true

I have discovered that the  non original black plastic Knuckle cup is pure crap. I'm giving a warning to all that have recently replaced theirs.
I already know the rubber knuckle boots are garbage, doesn't matter original or aftermarket. I'm trying a relative new product now - poly boots.

OK, for the details- I replaced the front suspension last year- a little less than 11 months ago. New knuckle boots with knuckle cups and plenty of grease. I have just taken apart and replacing the suspension again. After inspecting the inside of the both cups, whole pieces of the plastic could be found. Pure crap.

This time around I'm using the polyurethane Knuckle boots, moly grease as used in the CV joints and original equipment nylon cups.

Also one side the rubber rebound buffer is disintergrating. Never saw this before.

Luckily the cups did not wear through to ruin the arms.

I just check the amount of miles I put on the mini since the first suspension replacement & rebuild which is 6,089 miles.

I'm finding it increasingly more difficult to keep my daily driver mini on the road. It's becoming like a full time job. Good luck to all.
