Thanks for the post on the A30/A35 forum.

Heres the forum with the questions I asked, though the experts don't recognise the part number as A30 or A35.

Car engines make CO2 and trees absorb CO2. By running your engine you're feeding a tree and helping the environment.

Charrison

could you provide the forum IP address?
is there a parts catalogue that lists this part for verification?

The specs for my laygear are
- tooth count 11/20/25/31
- bushings NOT bearings
- length is 6”
- ID stamped on bottom is 1A3686
- ID stamped vertically on shaft is E8
- originally encased in wax.

MG and Healey folks say it is not from them.
Mini Mania, Moss and others do not know what it is from.

i am still checking an early smooth case transmission which still used bushings.
rebuilt and ribcage transmissions apparently used bearings.

I understand the A30/A35 are old enough to have used bushings.

I asked on a UK A30/A35 forum.

I can ask more if you have a specific query.

Aren't the gearboxes the same as in the Sprite/Midget/A30/A35 of similar vintage ?
