If the code readers are able to communicate with the ecu but not the transmission, then it may be a faulty transmission control module.

I would think there should be an error in the ecu indicating a problem with the trans control module.... and I would not expect the transmission to be able to function (shift thru the gears) if the controller is defective...

I am not sure what is going on with your car based on the information you provided...

Okay, this may not be significant but if you have a 2005 Cooper S with an automatic transmission, you have a standard automatic transmission, not a CVT transmission. It is a 6-speed automatic made by Aisin.

If the ps pump is not working after cleaning the brushes, you may need to replace it. It is not unusual for the gen1 power steering pump to fail.

Do you have another scanner you can try?

prior to that my Autel scanner sees my power steering ABS and transmission CVT. I change the cvt fluid and I make sure is gauge correctly and used the correct fluid. suddenly my scanner doesn’t see my Transmission ABS and power steering but it sees other function like the steering angle, nav, the roof etc.
What I tried
1. I check all the fuses all are good
2 I clean the harness of the CVT thinking it could be a lost contact.
3. The Transmission engages all the gears correctly cos I jack up the car and tried that.
4. I removed and clean the ABS MODULE harnesses too.
I am lost I don’t know what to do again.
We do not have experience with the Autel scanner, so we may not be able to help. Since you are having power steering issues and your MINI has the CVT, it sounds like you have an early R50 MINI Cooper.

It sounds like you are working to resolve a couple issues:

a. Power steering pump not functioning
b. Communication issue between the Autel and the car

If the power steering pump electronics was packed with dust, it means the brushes have worn down - did you check the condition of the brushes in the motor? Is the ps pump functioning after you re-assembled?

I am not sure why the Autel is suddenly not seeing all the systems...
