The shop I work in calls some of these PDR guys "storm chasers". They follow weather fronts with potential hail storms for a living, and the good ones do very well. Kind of like those tree trimmers chasing hurricanes.
With that said, I have literally seen them remove hundreds of dents form several cars in as little as a week and walk away with two months pay, no BS. While that sounds pretty gravy to some, I believe the patience of a saint is highly required to do it.
Just my.02 cents.
