 Tex mirror fitment?

That piece is used when converting factory 80s/90's mirrors to Tex mirrors.
The factory mount holes are the ones that are closer to the center and staggered.

Here are the pics of the plate.

Did you get the wedge shaped base that they mount to? I think the Tex mirrors require that extra plate (plinth) so the mirrors sit upright instead of sticking out horizontally from the door.

So I have some Tex mirrors on, installed by the previous owner.
They were somewhat tattered so I replaced them, however the new ones are fairly loose on there. Ordered a fitting kit just to be sure but stumped on what to do with the metal plate that is supplied with it...

Any tips?
