again, the thick flange Cooper S block was also produced with tappet covers. Available in some Aussie Cooper S' and Clubman GTs
thin and think flange solid tappet chest blocks were available in the Morris 1100S and others

It looks like I have four Cooper S engines. One is a correct 1071, two are thin flange 1275 and one is thick flange with steel caps 4 bolt center. All with ENB40B cranks and correct rods. What is the going rate for these with bore clean and hone. Cam bearings, freeze plugs, shaft sized, bearings and balanced pistons/rods? I don't have any early heads but plenty 940 big valve 11 stud ones.
If anyone might be interested I have a 997 and 998 Cooper power unit as well as a nice A+ 998 fresh build waiting for a cam choice. The 997 and 998 will be rebuilt to correct specs. Check this out as I may have someone coming over to load a container may be able to get Alex these Canadian bumpers across the pond. Steve (CTR)

I've got one without caps, but the shipping on top of the purchase might make it unviable.
There's nothing alleged at all about the MS blocks Murray - they've been in the works for several years. The aluminium one on display last month was for show and to help prove aspects of the project, but the cast iron thick-flange S-blocks will happen at some point.

The above account of Cooper S block history actually leaves out the thick flange Cooper S block, still with tappet covers, that is the basis for the alleged MiniSpares reproduction.
Keep in mind that 1300 blocks, the ones with the cast-in tappets, were also produced in a thin flange version, though I have only seen those blocks in Sprite/Midget form.

and Minispares will be offering the thick flange (lip) blocks soon. I wish they were alloy.

Did I read that Mini Spares is or will be offering new Cooper S blocks soon in the 2000 pound range. I'm way over stocked on Cooper S connecting rods. Plan to offer my Cooper S blocks as complete units. Steve (CTR)

Does anyone have a thin lip 1275 Cooper S block for sale - the type with push-rod covers on the rear of the block. They were used from 1964 to around mid 1968.
In 1968 the thick lip block was introduced, with no push-rod covers on the rear.
If anyone is interested in a part swap I have 2 thick lip 1275 blocks I could throw into the deal.
