I would love to do a cruise around the US in a Mini.
I hope I have the energy and will to do those things when I am as young as Bob is.

It looks like you guys had a great trip and with 5k plus miles with no major breakdowns. One to remember for sure.
I think i posted somewhere Bob did a tour of America one year and clocked up 10,000 miles in a saloon and i believe he was around 70 yo then as he is 79 now, i only hope i have that much energy if i reach his age.
Yes a Moke is a different creature when cruising 50 plus as the wind beats you up.

Good to hear Bob is back safe.We got back a few days ago. He beat us in mileage to Snowmass as we only had 2100 miles or so at that point. It looks like we beat him in total mileage as we hit 5060.1 in front of our house.
I do think the "mileage index" with a Moke adds alot to the total...

Bob Overdorf just finished the last leg of his Mini meet trip arriving back in Florida 5019 miles later in his Moke towing a camper trailer.

Yes, it was a great trip, there is alot to see in the west...and east and south, etc. We sort of stuck to the original parks for the Park to Park tour. We easily could have spent twice the time. Ian, it sounds like you hit many of the same parks.
The car is David Haight's old car who was named Murphy at the time. My wife has renamed her Lucy. David was a regular here for many years but I do not remember his MM login name. Sadly he passed on several years ago after moving to the Northwest.

I neglected to mention Lucy picked up an award at Snowmass as well. I think David would be proud...

Would have been a fun drive. We've just finished a run (non -Mini unfortunately) down a slightly more western route from Lake Louise to Las Vegas via Waterton, Glacier, Yellowstone, the Tetons, Monument Valley, Canyonlands, Arches, Bryce and the Grand Canyon..... and a small stretch of the original Route 66.
Cheers, Ian
