My friend down here in San Diego would probably work for trade for a shell or parts...

Might be worth a tow down.

He does very VERY good welding work and panel replacement, and panel smoothing, etc. He just does not do the last step in paint prep and the actual painting.

He is currently doing major rust repair and panel replacement for someone's Morris Minor in the customer's driveway at the customer's request.

If you would consider towing it down to SanD an option, I can mention it to him and see if he is interested in talking to you and learning more about it.

Thanks guys. It's not going to be a show car or anything.  I just want it done by somebody who knows what the heck they are doing. It would be great to find a mini person that might be interested in trading parts or even an early mk1 along with cash. I have a ton of stuff I will never use and it would be great to clear a lot of it out. I don't want to break the bank on it but don't mind spending money either. Obviously for the right person. Somebody with a home shop or on the side kinda thing would be ideal. Yeah Yeah that's a pipe dream I'm sure.

On The Road Again Classics in Morgan Hill did mine.

There is also Union Jack in San Martin.

Both are 20 miles South of San Jose

I am in the process of restoring my 1963 Austin Cooper. I have the car completely taken down to the shell and it's time to start the bodywork. There is some rust/rot under the right taillight and boot lid that needs attention along with some other things The doors need to be aligned which might mean the hinges need to be re-pinned. I'm not sure.  It is an original shell car that is really solid for it's age.

Does anybody know someone that does bodywork in the San Francisco area on classic minis? I live about an hour north of SF and would like to find somebody close who is familiar with classic Minis.

Thank you.
