Rear subframe boot mounting

With a few minor exceptions (dogbone for example) bolts always point downwards with the nuts underneath.
If the nuts came undone on the trunnions the subframe would probably stay put on the dangling bolts. If the bolts fell out it'd move around for sure.

You go thru the boot floor. Put washer on bolt, thru floor, trunion, then nylon nut.

I have read numerous previous topics but none refer to how the subframe trunnions are mounted to the boot.
i have seen numerous supplier photos as well as the workshop manuals and they contradict one another.
Which is correct
1) bolts go up through the trunnion into the boot
2) bolts go down from the boot into the trunnion.
Looks like plain washers with nyloc nuts are used.
if 2) is correct is there also some washer (metal or rubber) in the boot or does the bolt simply contact the boot floor?
