The number could be a "factory replacement" engine number.

Could that be a factory replacement 1275A+ number ?

It could be but it is not 100% as that carb could be from another engine not the one you have.
That engine number looks like a correct factory item but all the 1275 engines i have seen start with 12.
Do a search on this site for identifying your engine you may find some information there.

So here is a link to the engine id tag:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Yjrhiuz5baaN5500B7YIYaIwqx5gfoyb/view?usp=sharing
But I also noticed that tag on the carb was a SU FZX1531 which comes up with following:
HIF44 Carburettor for a Rover Mini Cooper 1990

So I'm left believing what is there in the car is from a 1990 Rover Mini. Does this seem logical?

Interesting. It looks like an A+ block but its not a Mini number I'm familiar with. Maybe its an MG metro motor. I like the breather at the flywheel ,end that feeds in the air intake snorkel.

A photo of the engine will help also. The engine tag does not sound correct.

I'm trying to determine what engine it is that is in the classic mini that I just purchased. The engine id as displayed on its tag is: LBB10399 100197
Would anyone be able to help me out with that information? Trying to find out as much as I can about this car and its history.
Thanks.
