A big advantage of running fuel injection is you can drive all day and not come out of the mini smelling like gasoline.

Thanks guys for the input. Been digging through the wiring diagrams and the mini mania instruction. Think I have it figured out but will give them a call to chat. ????

A front wiring harness from a 90 to 93 carbed Mini should be compatible.
If you are working off MM's instructions give them a call and see what they say.
It should not be hard to figure out all you need is a switched 12 volt source to make it run.

Also is it possible to just get a new harness to run? If so what harness would work?

I talked to a lot of people about the differences and ultimately wanted the simplicity of the carb. My relay box come to find out had a lot of rust inside must have gotten water in it while sitting. Basically I have followed the mini mania write up and installed a new distributor, the carb with a fuel pressure regulator with the extra fuel returning to the tank. The part I need to go back through is the wiring. In the write up it states to connect from the ECU plug terminal 11 to terminal 85 of the new relay. From Terminal 20 &4 of the ECU plug to terminal 87 of the relay and then take terminals 30 & 86 of the relay and go to ground. Then it doesn’t say what to do with everything else. Basically I think I’m missing something or wired something wrong. Going to have to go through it all with the Haynes manual.

minimike...  did you change the fuel pump to 3 PSI or less. this is must.. and with return loop. .. 6464..  you have to remember the SPI are 25 years old now.. and had lots of gremlins from DAY 1..  at least with carbs.. the car will NOT cut off on interstate at 75 MPH for no  reason..  scary when it happens..  later b

I don't why you would want to remove the Injection, but anyway that relay box controls 4 things. 1 is the fuel pump. I would have to look in the Haynes manual to see the others. You also have a fuel cutoff button.

I’ve pieced together all the bits I need for a SPi to carb conversion based off the list for mini manias Kit. I’ve followed the instructions the best I could to putting it all together. I keyed on to see if any action would happen but no turn over. Clearly I have missed something with the wiring. I have taken out the ecu like the instructions says and connected the wires to the relay. Am I supposed to keep the spi relay box plugged in? I’m going to go through the wiring diagram again tomorrow to see if I can figure it out. With all the extra wires from the ecu I feel like I missed something and the instructions don’t seem to clear. Any help is appreciated
