Thanks for the info on TCP.  I will not use them for tartan red.  The primer that I have is a high build yellow primer.  It covers just fine.  I shot Surf Blue over it two years ago with great results.  I think that I may go with a Sikkens urethane paint.  I used a less expensive level of Sikkens in Surf Blue urethane and it was easy to spray and rubbed out great.  It looks awesome.  A higher level of Sikkens is around $410 for one gallon already mixed with reducer and $60 for one quart of hardener.  Five quarts shootable should be enough paint.  Still want the early RD9 tartan red code.  Thanks!

make sure you use a red primer.  Red is a color that does not cover well and you'll need multiple coats

TCP will sell you PPG if you want it but their house brand paint is their own.  They market their own paints in multiple systems (lacquer, enamel, 2-part urethane, base/clear, ....)  I have used their paints on a couple of projects.  They are OK, sort of like a slightly thin PPG for the same amount of reducer.  However, red is a paint I found oxidizes quickly... at least in TCP's house urethane.

Would I use TCP again?  Yes.  TCP can save you a lot of money over PPG (particularly if you use one of their fleet colors) and it is easy enough to spray.  However, I would probably not use TCP for red. The worst part about TCP for me is that they are on the west coast and it is expensive to ship their products to me on the east coast.

Fellow Minioids,  I am about to order paint for my 1965 Austin Mini Cooper and I want to go with a single stage tartan red.  Probably a urethane based paint.  I like PPG or Sikkens.  Anyway, I want to see what others have used and if someone has a code for tartan red.  As I understand it, there was an early tartan red and a later tartan red.  Also, is TCP Global the same as PPG?  Thanks!
