Not trying to be snarky, well a bit, but you're posting in the Classic Mini forum. Not many folks here have experience with the new ones, plus most of us are smart-alecky old farts, so you're liable to get all kinds of less than helpful advice. Happy you found an answer to your question, though.

Sorry, but that doesn't answer the question.

I have to cut off the wiring harness and wire the new speaker directly.

Just asking for a simple answer to a simple question.

I am changing the door speakers on my 2007 mini cooper.  The wiring harness has a red/black wire and a purple/black wire.  Which is the positive and which is the negative?
