Yes they are black.
If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
Give a car more power and it goes faster on the straights,
make a car lighter and it's faster everywhere. Colin Chapman.

I'm assuming it is one of the black relays, rather than one of the multi-purpose yellow Siemens relays?
Late last night I found the MiniSpares relay page showing the SPi A/C relay as being the YWB101080 relay just off-center to the passenger side of firewall (near the rats nest of inline fuses.) I was going to head up to my shop to check it out, but it was 11pm at night, so I'll check it out in a couple of hours this morning.

There were different set ups for different years and suppliers. On your year of car it should be close to the master cylinder on a bracket attached to the brake servo bracket. Some use Honda Civic relays.

My newly acquired 1992 Rover Mini 1.3i Spi came with non-functional air conditioning. I cannot find the a/c relay, which I suspect is the culprit, as there is power to both sides of the fuses (under the cap on what originally appeared to be a relay)...and there is no power at the condenser fan or compressor low pressure switch.
So where exactly is the A/C relay on JDM cars? (Please do not just say "under the bonnet" or "on the firewall", as I have relays and inline fuses littered throughout the firewall under the bonnet.
Any insight would be splendiferous!
Thanks,
Sam
