I can't answer your question-- I didn't notice that it was any different, but it was a few years ago that I last used it.

On a related note: I had an orange clutch spring installed on my +.060 1275 that was dyno tested at 89hp at the wheels (approximately 100 at the flywheel) that was built for introduction to VARA / Vintage racing. I did 1 vintage event, and then the motor has done multiple stints in Lemons racing where it's done anywhere between 8 hours and 24 hours of continuous use with multiple drivers behind the wheel, some not so sympathetic to mini transmissions...

After the first lemons event, I removed the orange diaphragm and installed a blue diaphragm spring-- yea, the regular one for 1275.  So that same AP friction disc, lightened flywheel and backplate, and the blue dot spring have done probably about 100 track hours with minimum 3 shifts (And sometimes more like 5) shifts every 3 minutes and I've never... NEVER had a problem with using that properly set up stock blue spring.  With the orange spring it just felt like I was putting too much pressure on the crank thrusts, and with the multitude of drivers I just thought I should err on the side of longevity for the major internal components-- namely the crank. Even with using clutch type lsd, I have not had a problem with clutch/flywheel slipping.

I have used blue dot springs on all of my lemons "race" cars (America, mini, moke, metro ) and never have I wished I had a stronger clutch spring.

of course, your mileage may vary. But Just thought I'd throw that out there.

So, I have an older MiniSpares orange dot clutch diaphragm that I lost the special washers required to install it onto the flywheel/clutch assembly. Does anyone out there know how thick those washers are? I remember them as being hardened steel and relatively thin compared to a standard grade 8 3/8 inch washer. Let me know what you know.
