More stats on my 66 S

despatched date - July 12, 1966
destination - Personal Export Delivery
wiper motor - 5 66
boot latch - 23 66
rear glass - RT = second quarter 1966

Original owner lived in Boston, picked up mini in UK and shipped it to US.

On Bat 67 S the wiper motor is either 6 66, 4 66, 6 64 or 4 64.  It is difficult to read.
any idea what the triangle thing is on the wiper motor.

Roger,

I was just thinking the same thing when I saw that listing.

My Black Plate S was received at the port and registered in California in 1966

Stats
Build date June 22 1966
Chassis 851594
Engine 41942
Body 54951

Compare the three cars with relatively close build dates and body, engine and chassis numbers are all over the place. They were building them fast and furious at that time I guess.

Do you have a Heritage certificate for yours? If so is yours an export car?

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

In the UK, the car year I think is when it was sold at the dealer, not the date of manufacture.  And there's lots of overlap. Check the wiper motor for the date, also boot lid latch, and window glass via Parnell's book. Glass is date coded. It might have parts from last year on the shelf that got assembled into a vehicle in the early part of the following year.

Here are the stats for a 1967 S just listed on BaT
Build Date - July 7, 1966
Chassis Number - 892315
Engine Number - 41995
Body Number - 55767

Here are the stats for my car which I thought was a 1966 S
Build Date - July 6, 1966
Chassis Number - 892659
Engine Number - 42201
Body Number - 55836

My numbers are higher but the build date is 1 day earlier!

I know dating a mini is not an exact science but these stats are awful close.
is it possible for them to be identified as different years?
i believe 1967 production was less and may be more desireable.
interesting in hearing from the experts.
