Removal of the roll pin is not a big deal.  Put the car in third gear or reverse, I forget which, buy a 3/16" pilot punch (it has a little knob on the end to center it in the roll pin) and whack it with an appropriately sized hammer.

It's dripping now, not pouring, and slowly builds up on the sump guard which has to be removed to do this.... so I guess we'll try without draining, and have a pan to collect what drops out.. the fun part is always the roll pin removal..

I have done them without draining the oil. If the seal is bad the only thing stopping oil leaking is the condition of the rod and the bushing at that point so if it is not pouring out i don't bother draining the oil.

Going to replace the rod change oil seal on a buddy's car, but it's been a while since I did one with the engine in the car.. do I have to drain the oil? or will there be only a small amount that drains out?
