Mike if our host is out of stock Minisport sells them. I picked one up a while back and just installed it today around $56 plus shipping.
I find it is best to loosen the steering rack before fitting the new one which will get the alignment spot on, this is usually the reason the splines fail in the first place along with a loose pinch bolt and steering column drop brackets.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Big Al's is a Mk1, which is a rarity, but not what the OP needs.

The new one from our host seems like money well spent if your splines are stripped, beats the alternative...

Our host sells them for about $90.  Go to the mini mania site and do a search for steering column.

I am heading for trouble with the steering column. It is vintage 1979 lockable steering column. It seems the splines at the rack end are about to strip. I can't find a part number for a replacement. Are they available or is there a solution to fix it? Or does anyone have a replacement column to sell?
