The 12G940 head as fitted to a Metro (and all later 1275 Minis) is interchangeable between all 1275 engines regardless of origin.

It *can* be fitted to a 998, but modifications to pocket the block are required and it's a bit of a waste of time unless you're racing (the port sizes are way too big).  Some will pop up and tell you it can be fitted to a 998 without mods, and yes, it has been done, but you need all the stars to align to make it work and the gains over a proper performance 998 head are non-existant.

can a metro 1.3 head be fitted to a 1275 or 1000cc mini without any modifications, also can the metro turbo be fitted?

im thinking of buying a mini 1275 or 1000cc and upgrading a little to get more hp. I don't have much mechanical knowledge hence questions.
