. Anyone who is curious, pm me and I'll share details of the 3 quotes I got, and which one I picked. All were personal recommendations from private parties who had shipped Minis. Just doing the paperwork to book passage now.

Car will be picked up as close to shipping as possible to minimize the amount of time stored outside. Seller is very nice gentleman who has agreed to store it until then and take payment at the time of pickup once my agent has car and V5c in hand.

Is all numbers matching car with original engine, so crossing my fingers all will be smooth into the US, and then my second adventure with getting Colorado title will start. Hoping it will be easier than the pickup - no weight checks or emissions needed for this one.

Sure, I'll ping you to give you right of first refusal. Always prefer to give business to folks in the Mini community. But I can find another shipper, no worries.

I'm setup to get it cleared and out the port to be stored at a friend's house until shipper picks it up. I'm in Houston every few weeks for work anyway if I need to be there myself.

Translation: I appreciated your offer, but since shipping through Houston is a lot cheaper than Charleston for Denver, I decided I could figure out someone with a TWIC card to pickup in Houston and store for a shipper to pick up...

Whee (not a horse, so doesn't whinny...")

Has been started every week for last 4 years, but just trips to local shops for actual driving. Am in agreement it needs some proving drives (and hose replacements) before a long drive, although my son is keen to try it..

Dr Mini lets talk about you hauling it once I get schedule for when it will arrive...

Mine came through Houston and it couldn't have been smoother. Completely drama free. It's like FDR said, "Nothing to fear but fear itself".

I’ve got the broker, but as you say I need someone with a Twic card to get the mini from the Port and then I need storage until the overland shipper picks it up . Hoping someone here has done this and has contacts.

I can go there in person as needed but I’m less excited about driving  a new to me car back that has old rubber hoses etc .

whee.. who ever pick ups the mini MUST have a TWIC card.. some ports do NOT even allow guest and escorts..you need CBP broker in the USA.. so that Emma at Mapcargo.co.uk can file the CBP10 +2 ISF two prior prior to the RoRo boats sailing from Southampton. UK.. fyi nobody works for FREE.. in the UK or the USA.. later bc

Any stories of shipping into Galveston (Houston) good or bad?
Any contacts who could potentially either:

1) Pickup a car from ship & store it for a week or so
2) Store a car for a week or two

Thanks!
