 Australian Mini - Steering column Square?

Now solved.  The alloy "block" is a SpringAlex brand steering wheel adapter.  Just need to carefully pull it off of the splines.

I've attached a photo of aluminum fitting #503
 It doesn't appear to have any fasteners holding it to the column
Onetm, I was going to try and use existing inventory

Never seen one.
Just buy a new inner column they are not that expensive or hard to fit.

I don't think you could find another wheel with w square hole, could you? or at least it will limit your choices.

I want to install a different steering wheel, but my 76 Australian Van has a strange Square-ish end where the wheel with splines would mount.
Does anyone have any personal experience with this set up?  I'd like to not have to install another steering column just to mount another steering wheel!
