Thanks for that.  Is the Accel switch the actual one HD uses or one that is supposed to be equivalent?  When I think of Accel parts my mind drifts to the yellow and black coil and wire sets sold in local parts stores.

Hi Brad ,I put in a pedal mounted switch you can buy the bracket or as I did spent 3 days making it !!!

Picking up the orange color of the car. Not DOT-5 fluid. The Accel switch is one the HD crowd uses.

The fluid looks kind of purple/red.   Is that DOT-5 fluid or an effect from the flash?

I'm sure you've read the threads that discuss how most hydraulic switches don't hold up with DOT-5.  Some recommend changing to the Harley-Davidson hydraulic brake switch as it has a good reputation for DOT-5 compatibility.  Switching to the pedal mounted switch is certainly a good way to put this permanently behind you.

This switch is maybe one year old. My brake lights were getting iffy. Decided to change to a switch on the pedal. Found the switch wet with brake fluid when I pulled the cover off to remove the wires. Might also explain why I have been not real happy with how the brake pedal has been feeling. This is an Accel switch.
