Thanks Colin and Steve.  Before installation of upper door seals, I had removed the door handles and door panels.  Turns out all I had to do was loosen the window and winding mechanism and turn out of the way.  Took about 10 minutes to install the door seals.  Only hiccup is I let the rollup mechanism get of the rolling tracks that elevate the windows.  Just got the roller back on the track and made sure the window was fitted in the new seal and then buttoned everything back up with success.  Passenger door is next and expect to have seal installed in under 30 minutes.  What had appeared as a nasty job turned out much easier than expected.  Cheers!

It seems a body shop can pull them out without removing the glass but they will not go back in without pulling glass and crank assembly I always replace the lower channels and lube everything up going back in. They are LH and RH as well. have fun getting them seated. Oh yeah check lower door inner for rust while there. Steve (CTR)

Does window and crank have to come out?  Thanks for any help you can offer.  Cheers!
As the seal/window guide in a normal MK III door reaches all the way to the end of the track i am sure you will need to remove the door glass to fit it.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.
