Just take it apart carefully you should be able to clean it up to at least get the car running as long as you do not rip any gaskets.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

make a car lighter and it's faster everywhere. Colin Chapman.

Thanks for the reply. The car has been sitting for 20 years plus with fuel still in it so I'm pretty sure its gummed up. l was trying to just get it running to decide what to do with the the car before I started spending any money on it.

My first thought would be this - if you don't know anything about the carb, how do you know it needs a rebuild ?

Second thought would be - it'll probably be easier and simpler in the long run to locate an HS4 SU that a 1275GT should have, as the pool of knowledge to draw from regarding them is vast.

They seemed to clean up the space behind the valve cover. I don't know where rebuild kits can be purchased. I have one that I used and took off.

The Nikki Carb conversion was sold as an alternative setup for the Mini, same as putting a down draft Weber Carb back in the day. The Nikki was used on early Datsun cars from japan and stand out for the big glass float chamber on the side of the Carb. Cheers Minsuki.

Hi-  Im new to the Mini's.  My first one is a 1975 Clubman GT1275.  I need to rebuild the carb and was wondering if anyone could identify what I have?  Its a Nikki and thats all I know.  I need to know where I can get a rebuild kit from.
