My only opinion would be to make sure its stainless steel. most muffler shops use aluminized pipe at best, which loses its coating anywhere it's welded, or clamped, and does not last. My mustang has a rather complicated dual exhaust system, I had it beautifully made, only to have it last about 3 years. The next one was 304SS, cost 3 times as much, but is now over 30 years old and doing fine.

Hi all. I’m almost at the point in my Mini refurbishment that it will very soon be time for me to replace the exhaust system from the LCB header back. My question is ; can our average muffler shop make up a custom two muffler system to fit my Mini ? I showed one muffler shop pictures of my Mini on a lift, which showed the exhaust system on my car, and he figured he could do it. Today I phoned anouther muffler shop and the owner said he didn’t know if he could rig a system without seeing the car. Right now my car has an RC40 system without the small resonator. It is very load, and I have listened to new RC40 systems on utube , complete with the resonator, and I know that even with the resonator it is a lot loader than I want. I want a quiet Mini...a little raspiness is OK, but ideally I just want a quiet car. So, basically I’m wondering if I’ll have to order a system ( $$$ ) or if the local muffler shop should be able to make a system for me ? Any help or thoughts are appreciated. Darren
