My question was more related to pops&bangs&burbles that many of the MINIs have as standard. A comprehensive list can be found at this link:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.com/forums/stock-problems-issues/286231-what-years-burble-pop-r50-r56-jcw.html
Mine does not have it, because it is 2007 and no sport button. I know that increasing the power will increase consumption as well, but I was wondering if pops&bangs&burbles on regular MCSs increased consumption.
Also, please note that I live in Montenegro, so I can not go to UK tuners, and also that ATM is a reputable tuner, present in 162 countries, but this is not that relevant, since my questions are more general in nature and are also related to stock MCSs that have this option out of factory.

AFAIK, ATM is a Dutch tuning company (see the provided link) and the best option for tuning I have here in Montenegro.
Maybe I was not clear enough: my r56 MCS does NOT have a sport button, so it does not pop/bang/burble. It has not been tuned in any way yet! I'd like to add that together with the ECU tuning, which I'll be doing tomorrow, but I wanted to know the opinions of people here regarding the three questions I asked:
1. does that increase fuel consumption?
2. is it bad for the engine, turbo, exaust, etc?
3. do you still have it on your software-wise up-to-date MCSs?
1. Any software tune that increases power output will adversely affect fuel consumption - some more than others. Typically speaking, it takes more fuel to produce more power.
2. Effects on reliability will again depend on the software tune. When an engine produces more power, it generates more heat. Without additional mods to manage the extra heat, it 'can' affect engine reliability over time.
3. ??

So, because of no sport mode, I was thinking to do chip tuning remap at the local branch of ATM ChipTuning (https://www.atm-chiptuning.com/). I put it on the dyno, they said I can expect ~+30bhp...
Still, there will be some things that will still be missed since I don't have a sport button: the steering will not become sharper and I believe that there will be no pops&bangs, like on MCSs with sport button. But, after reading this forum, I've noticed that some people were complaining that pops&bangs are gone on their MCSs after a software/firmware update?
Anyways, I wanted to know if they DO offer to do pops&bangs together with remap:
1. does that increase fuel consumption?
2. is it bad for the engine, turbo, exaust, etc?
3. do you still have it on your software-wise up-to-date MCSs?
PS I did not do a de-cat, but AFAIK, MCSs have pops&bangs even without a de-cat?
It is quite possible the aftermarket software tune can eliminate this feature.
We are not familiar with the ATM Chiptuning, so we are unable to comment on it.
