He's running both - the Longman GT is in the Gerry Marshall Trophy and Willow II was in the Sears Trophy. The only reason he only ran the GT last year at Goodwood was the lack of a race for an Appendix K car.

Nick is indeed a genius from his Fathers mould. I was lucky enough the past weekend to lurk at the back of the Swiftune enclave in the paddock and signal for one of the Works cars, and it was an education.

Very much like the roads in SE Michigan, but it's not a problem, every summer they put down a 1/2 inch of the finest asphalt money can buy. Last summer they were reworking a section of road to repair a culvert, they had a 100 foot or so of the road 2" lower than the rest. At 50 it was just enough to fully load the mini's suspension, then launch it airborne on the return to grade, great fun!

I would think you have never seen Nick Swift hustle a vintage mini around VIR. He does not have to speed up the video to appear fast. He arrived at the track, adjusted the belts had me jack the rear and turn the wheels by hand while he adjusted brake bias. He lead every lap of practice, lead the qualifying race and was first in class and group winning the Gold Cup never giving up the lead.
My having jumped parking lot curb stones, driven down stairs and cleaned out ditches at high speed the little cars may be tougher than you think. Steve (CTR)

Looks a bit like pothole season in Ottawa. For those of you in gentler climates, water gets into small cracks in asphalt paving, where it freezes in or below the asphalt. When we get a thaw, the ice melts and the asphalt breaks up. With spring and successive freeze-thaw cycles, potholes can get big enough to bend rims, break suspensions and sometimes damage body panels. Avoiding potholes is something like negotiating Chicanos.

Australian sports sedans smacking the curbs hard. I wonder how long our delicate front ends could take of that kind of punishment. [LINK]
