Thanks Darren. Right now it’s the little hidden pieces are needing attention but it’s coming along great. Here’s a recent from the classic auto show at the LA Convention Center with me and Mike Brewer.

The US border guards at the Fort Erie bridge into the States do not like RHD cars. You will be pulled over and questioned, for a very long time.

Before I bought my LHD JDM Mini I had a deal in the making for a 93 RHD Mini for registration in PEI ( Canada ). My insurance agent said that she didn’t think she could find an insurancer until I mentioned Haggety, and when she checked she found she could offer me collector insurance ( car was 25 years old ) with full coverage, including fire, theft ,vandalism and glass. 219$ CDN per year as long as more than 5000km weren’t put on the car. Currently in this tiny province any RHD vehicle ( that wasn’t registered prior to this new legislation ) must be at least 25 years old to be registered for the road. Just FWIW. Good luck on your project armycook ! Darren.

So much more fun to drive now.... unique enough that it does not need to be RHD,
As for banned RHD in Quebec any care registered after Oct 1971 cannot be licensed if RHD.
Current licensed car are exempt but some insurance companies no longer insure RHD.
Yet, our garbage trucks, recycle trucks Mail vans and street cleaners are all RHD!!!!
This new law came about because 18-24 years old were importing Nissan Skylines and having major car accidents...

I purchased my first RHD car in 2006 (Skyline) and have done many road trips through the US with RHD cars. I have never been hassled crossing the border with my personal car including any of my Minis. They were all my cars though, never driving for another individual.

It should not be an issue Dennis. As your car is already registered most States do not require a re inspection when being registered in the same State with a new owner. I don't know of any US States that have a RHD ban only in certain provinces in Canada have i heard this is an issue.
Go ahead convert it you will not regret it.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Resale value.... coming from a person who sells Minis. LHD is in much greater demand than RHD... I constantly get people asking me to convert cars prior to sale (RHD to LHD)
There was only one LHD works car, AGU780B but it was Green/White for the 65 Monte. Mine is the CRX90B but not from the current from the new owner but from the 1965 Monte that was driven and navigated by the Morley brothers from Suffolk.

California, USA. I guess it’s more than just driving my car. A very special person is generous enough to help me properly wire my rally lamps and everything behind the dash. I know i’m going to kick myself later on if i wire everything myself with my current LHD dashes. I’m very positive i’ll be itching to convert it once i’m done with my project and it would be very painful to switch all the wires then.

Yes sir. Not really concerned about it being shown as a concourse car (not even close). Just want convert it but i don’t know if it’s going to hurt me later on with paperwork and stuff. I haven’t wired my dash panels yet and thought i’d convert it now than regret it later.
