I'm not Deb, but when a company, doctor's office etc. collects your personal information which may include your email address, they are required to show you a privacy/non-disclosure agreement. In the case of doctors or similar medical services, you may be required to authorize them to share relevant information to other medical services, such as another doctor or service they may refer you or your case to. It may include contact information. Typically these privacy/non-disclosure agreements specifically state that your information will not be shared for commercial purposes.

Deb, it was told to me by another co-worker that it is a Canadian law that you can not give out someone's email address? I'm assuming it is a company is not allowed to give out?
