CA
CA is Canada (roll eyes ).  In the off chance your car was a CA market car, the rear loom would be different from a UK market car

Yes, it helps to know this at times

How would a mk3 even be in CA since they stopped importing minis in 67-68. Plus you can’t register a mini past 67-68 anyway???  This doesn’t help.

If your MkIII was a CA market car, it would have had a reverse light..... fyi.  Just to throw a wrench into things...lol

I'm not sure that is right.  The Mk2 cars (regular sedans and -S) would have a single lamp below the plate on the hinged plate carrier.  I don't know details of the later cars but I believe that from Mk3 and on there was the single lamp fixed to the boot lid above the plate.
Duh!!!! Brain fart Doug. I was just looking at a modified J spec MK I look a like with a light on each side, of course you are correct and it would have one light below the plate.

Thanks guys.  The mk3 does not have reverse lights either. And I believe the tag lights are correct where I only have one light.  I guess that wouldnt be a big deal with extra wires.  I also do not have a rear defroster so that doesn’t matter either.

i think I am going to just take a chance and order the mk2 harness since I really don’t want to wait a month to get one made.  Driving season is coming up fast

The Mk 2 wiring harness will not have provisions for reverse lights, or for a heated rear window. It will have a wire for the electric fuel pump. Also as  stated earlier, the pig tail for the rear plate light may be of an incorrect length.

Maybe the number plate light wires Jason. The Cooper S has two light assemblies each side of the number plate wheras the MK III has one assembly above the number plate. I do imagine that the Cooper S would have longer wires for its application as they light up both sides on the number plate which is 20 inches or so long.
The other thing to consider is if you have a heated rear window as that wiring would be in the same harness.

I believe that Autosparks and British Wiring are connected.
I am sure either one can make what you need, just be sure to communicate clearly exactly what you need.

I cannot answer your questions about the difference between the two rear harnesses.  However, you could contact Autosparks in the U.K.  They will probably know and will be able to provide you with what you need.

You didn't list a lot of wires that you lack.  Therefore, you could also consider making your own rear harness.  The correct wire colors and bullet connectors are available from Britishwiring.com.  I think they also sell loom wrapping tape.  If they don't have the tape, it is readily available on eBay.

hi. I have a 1975 MK 3 mini 1000.   I need a rear wire harness. I found a rear wire harness for a MK 2 cooper s but the selling company says it’s not appropriate for my car. Does anyone know the difference.  Also does anyone know where to get one. I just need the rear wire harness

the only wires I need are Fuel sending unit, taillights, and I think the dome light is also in it?

Thanks
